Sabbath

PDF Questions on the Sabbath
AUTHORS:  Geisler, Dr. Norman
Dr. Geisler looks at three Scriptures often used to challenge worship on Sunday rather than Saturday. What do Exodus 20:8-11, Acts 17:1-3 and Revelation 14:9-12 have to say about the Sabbath?

PDF A Donde Va Vincente?
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
“Where is Vincent going?” is a common Spanish saying, and the answer is “Where everyone else is going!” It refers to people who just follow the crowd, doing what everyone else is doing. In this article Carlos Knott explains that many children become involved in “first communion” and confirmation simply because of social pressure—everyone else is doing it.

PDF The Vail Menders
AUTHORS:  Durel, Greg
Picture the Jewish priests sitting in the temple frantically trying to sew up the veil in the temple after it was torn (following Jesus’ death on the cross). Why would they want to do that, and why is that a picture of what the Roman Catholic Church is doing today?

PDF "I Am He"
AUTHORS:  Ankerberg, Dr. John
When Jesus said “I am He,” the Jews knew that He was claiming to be God. Jesus also claimed that to know Him was to know God. But is it enough just to know God? Dr. Ankerberg suggests that the more important question is “Does God know you?”
Salvation

HTML

PDF "Nobody Knows"
AUTHORS:  McCarthy, James
Can anyone know that he is saved and going to heaven with certainty? The Roman Catholic Church calls this rash presumption. What does the Bible call it?
Salvation

PDF ?Al Cielo Por Los Diez Mandamientos?
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
For a religious person, the question a thoughtful person should ask is, Can we reach heaven by keeping the 10 commandments? The Catholic Scriptures say “no,” but many Catholics say “yes.” Another problem arises when we compare the 10 commandment is Catholic literature with the list found in the Bible. The second commandment found in the Bible—regarding graven images—is missing in the official Catholic list! Why?

PDF “How Shall They Believe?”
AUTHORS:  McCarthy, James
Many Catholics would gladly receive the saving message of salvation, if only someone would explain it to them. Maybe God would use you. Jim McCarthy explains further about the urgent need of Catholics in this article.

PDF “La Mona aunque se vista de seda, mona es y mona se queda”
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
“Even though you dress a monkey in silk, it’s still a monkey and always will be.” Carlos Knott uses this Spanish proverb to explore Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus, who still needed to be saved, even though he was a “religious” man.

PDF Al Cielo Por Los Diez Mandamientos? Capitulo 3
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
The second five commandments emphasize our responsibility toward others. While the Law highlights our sinful condition, it also teaches us about how far reaching God’s righteousness is. Those who are ignorant of the righteousness of God practice religion and hope everything will be okay because it makes them feel good about themselves. But we cannot ignore the righteousness of God while trying to establish our own righteousness, for we are all sinners. The ten commandments are God’s way of showing what an impossible mission that is. Sacraments and ceremonies do nothing to alter our desperate condition. We need a Savior!

PDF Are You Born Again?

Can you know for sure if you are a Christian? Using John 3:1-8 as a springboard, Dr. Van Dyke gives five marks of a born-again believer. Check them out yourself to see if you fit—or if you need to answer God’s call on your life.

PDF Es Suprema La Inglesia (Is the Church Supreme?)
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
Carlos Knott responds to the news release on 9/5/02000 of Cardinal Ratzinger, et al, who declared the supremacy of the Roman Catholic Church and that salvation and grace are in her. But is the church supreme? Should we trust in her for salvation? Would we not do better to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, to whom the Father has give the name that is above all other names, and in whose name alone is salvation?
Salvation

HTML

PDF Es Suprema La Inglesia Catolica Romana? Parte II
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
Carlos Knott continues to address the questions: Is the Church really the light and guide for salvation for all people? What do the Scriptures say? Upon examining the Scriptures, it becomes clear that the Lord Jesus Christ, rather than the Church are the light and guide, and the only source for salvation.

PDF Exchanging Religion for a Relationship
AUTHORS:  Gendron, Mike
All religions of the world have one thing in common—they teach salvation is a result of what man does for God rather than what God has done for man. True Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Mike Gendron explains how Catholics can exchange their religion for a relationship with God. Those who trust Jesus alone have access to the Father.

PDF Reaching Catholics for Christ
AUTHORS:  Gendron, Mike
Most Catholics do not know God’s punishment for sin or his only provision for it. If we are to reach Catholics for Christ we must tell them God’s righteous justice requires the death penalty for any and all sin. Only then will they see how futile their works are, and only then will they turn to the Savior.

PDF The Gospel of Jesus Christ and How Man Perverts It
AUTHORS:  Gendron, Mike
In September, 2000, Pope John Paul II announced the Roman Catholic Church is necessary for salvation. Three months later he declared: “All the righteous on earth, even those who do not know Christ and his Church… are called to build the Kingdom of God.” Which of these statements are Catholics to believe? They stand in direct opposition to one another and to the Bible. Maybe it is time for Catholics to go to the only infallible source for truth—the written word of God.

Spanish

PDF Al Cielo Por Los Diez Mandamientos? Capitulo 2
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
This article deals with the first five commandments, which emphasize our responsibility toward God. The author looks at what it would mean for a person to try and keep them all perfectly. God’s Law, correctly used, does nothing to exalt or console people; on the contrary, its lawful use is to show our need for a Savior. Those who understand the Law, instead of trying harder to be good or practice the religion of their choice, will confess their sinful condition and need of a Savior.

PDF Al Cielo Por Los Diez Mandamientos? Capitulo 4: El Inmaculado
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
Who is the only person who has ever kept all 10 commandments? Has the Catholic Church given to Mary titles and descriptions that belong only to Christ? The glory of the authentic Gospel is that God has done all the work of salvation and does not call upon people to “do,” but rather to repent of their dead works and religion and trust in the One who has “done” it all!

PDF Como Fue Sanado Naaman
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
Naaman was a great man, rich, powerful, and famous, but he had a problem that he could not cure. Leprosy. When he came to the prophet Elisha he was told to do something simple, wash in the Jordan River. He was expecting some great ceremony or ritual to be performed by the prophet, and was incensed at the apparently simple instructions. This illustrates how many people, Catholics included, would be willing to do some great thing or take part in some ceremony or ritual in order to have their sins forgiven, but they scoff at the simplicity of the Gospel: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved."

PDF Cuantos De Tus Pecados Son Perdonados?
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
“How Many of your Sins are Forgiven?” This article is part one of a series examining the Catholic doctrine of forgiveness of sins. In particular, the author deals with the sacrament of Baptism and the sacrament of Reconciliation.
Spanish

HTML

PDF Cuantos De Tus Pecados Son Perdonados? Parte 5
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
How Many Of Your Sins Are Forgiven? This article considers the sacrament of Extreme Unction, often called the "last rites". Due to the nature of this sacrament some rather gross and embarrassing abuses have become common among Catholics. Does one really need to see a priest when he is gravely sick, in order to prepare for death? Is extreme unction supposed to heal the person or dispatch them into eternity? Who can really forgive sins and prepare a person to meet God?
Spanish

HTML

PDF Cuantos De Tus Pecados Son Perdonados? Parte III
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
How many good works does it take to pay for ones sin? How can good works help us improve our situation with God? Of course, the priest will say “it’s a mystery,” but it isn’t a mystery. It’s a mistake, an error! Good works cannot change our relationship with God. The Church says different, but we must choose between what Rome says and what the Scripture says.
Spanish

HTML

PDF Cuantos De Tus Pecados Son Perdonados? Parte VI
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
Roman Catholicism uses the invention of purgatory to promote the pagan practice of prayers for the dead. Catholics who practice their religion faithfully all their life still need sins to be forgiven after they have died. This goes directly against the promises and truth of the Gospel. Our Lord promises in John 5:24 that those who believe "have passed from death unto life." Salvation and forgiveness of sins is a present reality, not a vague future hope.
Spanish

HTML

PDF Cuantos de Tus Pecados Son Perdonados?—Parte IV Las Indulgencias
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
"How Many of Your Sins Are Forgiven?" This article treats the subject of Indulgences. The church continues to teach that indulgences can bring about forgiveness, and many Catholics at one moment or another in their life place their hope in this, instead of directly and personally in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Spanish

HTML

PDF Cuantos de Tus Pecados te Son Perdonatos? Parte II La Eucaristia
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
How many of your sins are forgiven? The Roman Catholic church claims that grace is received through the sacrament of the mass, and that Christ’s blood is repeatedly shed for the forgiveness of sins. But Scripture offers us a living relationship with our Lord in place of the sacraments. Christ forgives all sin and saves completely all who trust in Him. No sacrament can give what He gives!

PDF El Cambrio Del Sacerdocio
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
This article, “The Change of Priesthood,” looks at Hebrews 5 and 7 to show that when God annulled the Old Testament priesthood, he did not establish a new earthly order of priests. Instead, Aaron’s ministry has been taken over permanently by the Lord Jesus Christ!

PDF El Celibato Forzoso del Clero
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
Carlos Knott cites various reports from news media about the immorality problems among the Catholic priests. Could part of the problem be Rome’s unbiblical stance on celibacy? The Forced Celibacy of the Clergy examines what the Church teaches, and what the Bible teaches about celibacy and marriage.

PDF El Ecumenismo Es Un Atraso Espiritual
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
This article, based on Hebrews 6:1-3 exhorts believers not to “lay a foundation again” but to “go on to perfection.” The basis for fellowship should be the Gospel, not any “commonly held belief,” which in and of itself cannot save.
Spanish

PDF El Intercesor Unico y Perfecto
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
In this article, Carlos Knott explains that Christ is the Only and Perfect Intercessor. The article examines the system of mediation on the Old Testament that was changed in the New Covenant, and shows how Catholicism goes backward and installs, without divine authorization, another system of mediators between the people and God. God grants us by His grace direct access, and gives us one Mediator and Intercessor, the Lord Jesus. Catholicism takes away the direct access and places a complicated constellation of mediators in the middle.
Spanish

HTML

PDF En Cristo
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
In this article Carlos Knott examines the text of 2 Corinthians 5:17: “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” How does a person come to be “in Christ?” This expression is used many times in the New Testament. What does it mean? If a person is in Christ, he is already so blessed and so secure that no religion can offer him anything. The important thing, then, is not to be religious or sincere, but to be “in Christ.”

Carlos Knott responds to the news release on 9/5/02000 of Cardinal Ratzinger, et al, who declared the supremacy of the Roman Catholic Church and that salvation and grace are in her. But is the church supreme? Should we trust in her for salvation? PDF Por Que Predicar El Evangelio A Los Catolico—El Destino Deseado
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
In this article Carlos Knott explains another great blessing we have in Christ that Roman Catholics do not have: not only do we know our sins are fully forgiven now, but also, and based on that great truth, we KNOW where we will spend eternity. Heaven, the desired destiny, is a real blessing for the believer, not just a vague “hope-so” hope.
Spanish

PDF Predicar El Evangelio A Los Catolico-Romanos?
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
This article, entitled The Finished Sacrifice, includes a series of quotes from the documents of Vatican II, the Council of Trent and other Catholic texts, which establish the point that Catholicism teaches, as dogma, that the Mass is a continuing sacrifice and the work is not finished. No Catholic can ever be sure of complete pardon because of this. The article shows how God took away the Old Testament sacrificial system by the one perfect and finished sacrifice of Christ, but Roman Catholicism came along and instituted the Mass without divine authorization.
Spanish

PDF Predicar El Evangelio A Los Catolico-Romanos? El Unico Salvador
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
In this article, Carlos Knott explains that Jesus is the only Savior, as opposed to Roman Catholic teaching, which in reality has many saviors, among them: Mary and the saints, the church, the sacraments, even a man’s own good works. By contrast the Bible teaches that Christ has already done all the work of saving, and there is no other Savior!

SPANISH ONLY! This article is about the strange Roman Catholic devotion to the so-called "Sacred Heart of Jesus". Throughout the Catholic world one can find devotees to the Sacred Heart. This is all based on alleged promises made by Jesus to those who reverence His heart and display the image on their doors or elsewhere. When we examine the Holy Scriptures we find no such words or promises made by Christ. His blessings and care are for all those who believe in Him, not for some special reduced group of devotees.

PDF Roma: Semper Idem
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
This article is a consideration of the phrase “semper idem,” Latin for “always the same,” and how this spells out the unrepentant attitude of romanism, which in fact cannot repent because it is an apostate religious system. If Rome could repent and change, it would mean the end of Roman Catholicism. However, the individual reader can repent and change, and does not need to suffer Rome’s final fate of judgment.

PDF Una Secta Es Una Secta—Parte 1
AUTHORS:  Knott, Carlos Tomas
Carlos Knott submits the first of a three-part article translated from Dave Hunt entitled “A Cult is A Cult.” Cult experts are inconsistent and misleading when it comes to Roman Catholicism. They give their definitions and descriptions of what a cult is and then, although Catholicism clearly fits the definition, they refuse to call it a cult. This unbiblical favoritism is not only unfaithful to the Word of God, it denies the values of the Reformers and adds to the growing confusion and apostasy in evangelicalism.
